GOI: I hate to link the lyrics of the great Tom Petty in the title to George W. Bush but it is appropriate today.
His poll numbers are falling, free falling.
Americans' approval of President Bush's handling of Iraq is at its lowest level yet, according to an AP-Ipsos poll that also found fewer than half now think he's honest.
A solid majority still see Bush as a strong and likable leader, though the president's confidence is seen as arrogance by a growing number.
Approval of Bush's handling of Iraq, which had been hovering in the low- to mid-40s most of the year, dipped to 38 percent.
GOI: However, since when has this arrogant S.O.B. cared about what Americans think?? Remember this is the guy who (during a Presidential debate last year) could not think of ANY mistakes he'd ever made. Good GOD George!! Not even stealing a cookie from the candy jar?? Anyway, the war is going terrible, members of his administration are under investigation and the poll numbers dip yet again. So what's a President to do?
Stay and try to fix things??
HELL No.
Hit the ranch for a month long vacation clearing brush and such.
I guess he thinks that his life is like a National Lampoon's vacation movie. What a terrible example to set. Soldiers are going into battle and dying under his command and orders and he goes on vacation??
Way to support the troops there Georgie boy.
YeAHH!!
(flashes the thumbs up).
Someone make this nightmare stop.
PLEASE???

One thing that dismays me is that the poll shows that 2/3rds think that Bush is "strong and likable."
I had thought that support for Bush was inspite of his policies because the majority thought he was "presidential" in a way I could not understand.
I still cannot understand how the average American thinks -- I just hope that voters turn against the Republicans in the next election or two.
Tom: yeah that dismays me as well. I too hope for some change in the next two elections.
James, I can't log in to your "sanatorium". I am frustrated. Try again later.
All the best ! Come and visit me, I know I am not steadfast at Blogger, but I'm trying to change that.
Do I have the congratulations from the jury now? (literally translated flemish expression; I'm sure you understand :-)
